The Role 

We need a skilled Robotics Test Engineer who is inspired by all the challenges that come along with iterating on a game changing product.The Robotics Test Engineer will be a part of the robotics product development team, and will be responsible for all verification and validation efforts for our PilotOS platform. This will include creating and executing robust design verification/validation processes and plans, collecting and analysing test data and presenting actionable results and conclusions from these tests efforts.

About you 

You are a self-starter and can tackle challenges in a fast paced, high aptitude, technical working environment. You are enthusiastic about showing your work and collaborating with fellow team members. You can adapt and develop quick solutions when one is not readily available. You are skilled in understanding potential failure modes, test design, statistical and quantitative analysis and methods to collect and analyse the right data given tight schedule constraints and ambiguous constraints.


  • Own the full verification and validation process from concept to development and deployment.
  • Understand cross-functional dependencies and collaborate with other internal and external teams to achieve end-to-end quality goals. 
  • Perform and participate in all parts of testing including test strategy planning, test case development, feature/functional testing, security testing, integration testing, regression testing, load testing and performance testing.
  • Provide feedback on new features and baseline functions throughout the product development cycle to surface issues early and often.
  • Create test reports from analysed data with clear, concise and actionable insights to improve product quality.
  • Participate in troubleshooting customer escalations and identify the root cause of defects.
  • Develop & improve Chironix’s QA/QC processes, documentation and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing research on current trends in product testing (tools, techniques, etc.).
  • Constantly look for opportunities to improve the robustness and performance of our product.


The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in an Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience performing tests on physical systems and comfortable working with electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Demonstrable ability to debug a system observable symptom down to the root cause.
  • Competence in bash shell in a Linux environment.
  • Familiar with Git, Jira or similar version control and issue tracking tools.
  • Intellectual fearlessness to tread into new subject areas when necessary. 
  • Cares about the customer experience and what we can do to improve it
  • Passionate about robotics and artificial intelligence, and excited to push the boundaries on real-world robotics applications.
  • Local to Chironix Office (limited opportunity for remote work).
